On booking a standard studio session you pay a £3pp non-refundable booking /studio fee upfront, and you pay for any pottery on the day. Workshops and parties are fully payable in advance and are non-refundable. We have small add on items from £2 -£5 which can be purchased in the studio.

Does pottery need firing in the kiln?

We recommend you have your pottery fired in our kiln, which can take 1-2 weeks. If you are visiting we do our best to process your pottery before your 'going home date', but we can offer no guarantee as it is unpredictable! Therefore postage can be arranged from £6, and will depend on size and weight. Allow 2 weeks for postage during peak busy times. (We have to dry, glaze, dry, fire, cool, match pottery, package pottery - this is a process which takes several days and all while busy in our studio!)

Firing your pottery will:

  • Finish your pottery to a smooth glossy shine
  • Bring out the colours and highlight any design
  • Make it food and dinnerware safe
  • Make it dishwasher safe (although if it is special keepsake, hand washing is recommended.)

Our kiln fires to 1000 degrees, so defects and breakages can occur at such high temperatures. Items can be delayed if we have to re –fire your item due to a flaw. On the rare occasion that an item is damaged or broken in the firing, we will offer you another session free of charge, or an item to paint at home.

Can we have extra time in the studio?

Open sessions are set at 1.5 hours, or 2 hours for a baby or adult only session.

We have found 1.5 hours to be just right for most people visiting the studio. During busy times, we are unable to allow an extension of time, due to needing to clean the table for the next booking. If you do run out of time, we can pack items into a take away kit for you to finish at home. If you know you would like longer than 1.5 hours, please contact us so that we can book you into a suitable longer slot. Most children will take up to 1 hour, and teens and adults a little longer.

How long until I can pick up my creations?

A week on average, but in busy or holiday times, up to two weeks. If you are visiting we do our best to process your pottery before your 'going home date', but we can offer no guarantee as it is unpredictable!
