How can we visit Kilncraft?

We closed our high street studio in December 2022, and our plans to move to a bigger studio fell through due to our daughters health, and needing to work around ongoing hospital visits. We now work mobile from our home studio in Liskeard. You can visit any of our POP UP Sessions at various cafes, hotels and venues around Cornwall, we aim to run 1-2 per month. Click on the BOOK NOW tab of our website to find POP UP dates and details!

Can I book Kilncraft for a children's party, hen party or event?

Yes, if you email us with your request we can check our diary. We do get booked up fast, so book early to avoid disappointment. If we are not available to visit, we can supply kits and instructions, for you to make your party go with a creative swing!

Does pottery need firing in the kiln, and how long does this process take?

Your pottery will need to be fired in our kiln, this will make it food and dinnerware safe. This can take 2-3 weeks from when you return your painted items due to drop off/collections/firings being once a week. When we had a high street studio, our kilns used to run every day, so it was easier to accommodate short notice dates, but we do ask for notice of at least 3 weeks if you need an item for birthdays, presents and gifts. This is due to our kilns being run less often and by demand. Allow 4-5 weeks for bespoke, personalised items or if we are posting your order.

Firing your pottery will:

  • Finish your pottery to a smooth glossy shine
  • Bring out the colours and highlight any design
  • Make it food and dinnerware safe
  • Make it dishwasher safe (although if you want your pottery to last longer then hand washing is recommended.)
  • We do not recommend putting items in a microwave or oven.

Our kiln fires to 1000 degrees, so defects and breakages can occur at such high temperatures. Items can be delayed if we have to re –fire your item due to a flaw. On the rare occasion that an item is damaged or broken in the firing, we will offer you another item to paint free of charge.
