Our Story

Kilncraft evolved from 30 years of retail experience, and 16 years of owning high street stores. We turned our high street store into a pottery painting studio in 2020, and hosted parties, workshops and family sessions from 2020 -2023. We were due to expand our studio to a larger premises in 2023, but due to our daughters declining health condition we have had to scale back our operations to a home studio, offering our services on a mobile basis. We are still working with many of our existing customers, hotels, schools and community groups. We can take Kilncraft to your venue, group, workplace, home, hotel, tourist attraction, festival... the possibilities are endless!

Helen Staff photoI am Helen, mum of two Cornish girls, and a retailer of 35 years. As well as owning Kilncraft, I am a sales rep for Atmosphere Publishing, and I travel all over Cornwall visiting Cornish attractions, businesses and retail shops! I offer business coaching and mentoring to retail businesses and start ups. I live by the coast with my family and Tess our Border Collie. I love the outdoors, coastal walking, wild swimming & paddle boarding. I sing, play instruments, love books, photography, ethical living and cooking. After 15 years of owning hardware stores in Cornwall, I wanted to do something more creative and offer a personal experience on the high street. Rebranding our business to Kilncraft has been a positive and rewarding change of direction. I have been able to use my qualified teaching and coaching skills, running after school clubs, parties and facilitating workshops. I am currently studying art therapy, and have completed a course as a certified therapeutic art coach. It’s lovely to see people relax, create and then watch the joy and smiles when the pottery comes out of the kiln all shiny ☺
