Kilncraft is a Pottery Painting Studio with space for parties and workshops. We have a retail shop and cafe supporting local Cornish brands, with Ice-cream, Bubble waffles, Cakes, Milkshakes and Coffees. Kilncraft has evolved from 30 years of retail experience and re-branded from 15 years of owning Hardware Stores. We wanted to bring something fresh and creative to the high street, reflecting a shift in trends from shopping to personal experience. Being kind to people and the planet is important to us, so we have grown in a direction that better fits our ethics . We are a family business and community is important, we aim to create a warm and inviting space to meet, paint, relax, have fun and create memories!

We hope to add Clay Experiences later in 2021.

Our Team

Helen Staff photoI am Helen, mum of two Cornish girls, and a retailer of 35 years. As well as owning Kilncraft, I am a sales rep for Atmosphere Publishing, and I travel all over Cornwall visiting Cornish attractions, businesses and retail shops! I offer business coaching and mentoring to retail businesses. I live by the coast with my family and Tess our Border Collie. I love the outdoors, coastal walking, wild swimming & paddle boarding. I sing, play instruments, love books, photography, ethical living and cooking. After 15 years of owning hardware stores in Cornwall, I wanted to do something more creative and offer a personal experience on the high street. Rebranding our business to Kilncraft has been a positive and rewarding change of direction. I have been able to use my qualified teaching and coaching skills, running after school clubs, parties and facilitating workshops. I am currently studying art therapy, and have completed a course as a certified therapeutic art coach. It’s lovely to see people relax, create and then watch the joy and smiles when the pottery comes out of the kiln all shiny ☺

Staff photo Jo Hi, I am Jo, I look after all your pottery behind the scenes! I glaze all the bisque and operate the Kilns at Kilncraft. I am a local glass fusing artist and my website is Glazy Days was originally a ‘paint your own pottery’ mobile business- we had regular spots at St Merryn & Padstow after school clubs. But then moved to using the kiln to fuse glass, selling in Wadebridge at Winifred & Mabel, and on the Visit Wadebridge Website. I often take Glazy Days to art and craft fairs and local events. I live in Wadebridge with my family and love to sing Acappella with local groups. I also work for & support Cornwall Wildlife Trust. I have between 2 to 4 children depending on the day of the week, and two dogs!!!!

Staff Tina Photo Hi I am Tina, and have worked at Kilncraft for 6 years (5 years as The Handy Store until we rebranded!) I am enjoying the change in direction from retail shop to a pottery painting studio and it has ignited creativity in me that I didn’t realise was there! I have been enjoying painting with acrylics at home during lockdown, and have painted several gifts for family and friends. In my spare time I love to walk the Cornish coast. I love spending time with my family, three daughters, seven grandchildren, and the family dogs! My twin sister and I have worked in various high street businesses in Wadebridge over the past 20 years. Customers have often mixed us up or don’t realise we are twins!
